Experimental Study on Bond Behavior between Steel Rebar and PVA Fiber-Reinforced Concrete

An experimental test was performed to study the bond behavior between steel rebar and concrete reinforced by polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers. Twenty specimens were prepared subjected pull-out test. Four different fiber volume contents (0%, 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%) considered with strength grade of C35 designed in present study. The effects PVA fibers, diameter, cover depth on clarified. fibers mechanical property also studied. results show that decreased compressive concrete, but increased splitting tensile, flexural, direct tensile strength. negatively affected bonding ascending branch both for failure cases, improved descending after peak stress case. In test, maximum decrement about 16.2% less than 0.6% restricted macro-cracking micro-cracking former much more significant latter. diameter became slight increasing content respectively.
